Where You Can Help, and Where You Cannot

Some tasks are fine for a careful homeowner. You can clear out the room, protect nearby floors, and pick finishes. You can also take photos of the space and write down what bugs you about it now.

Do not touch gas lines, main water lines, wiring, or load-bearing walls. Leave pipes to pros.
